A.R. College of Pharmacy & G.H. Patel Institute of Pharmacy (ARGH) is one of the best Pharmacy Institute in the region. To meet the needs of Pharmaceutical industries in Gujarat and beyond to provide quality higher education in different disciplines of Pharmacy, Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) set up in 1981, the A.R .College of Pharmacy & G H. Patel Institute in Pharmacy (ARGH) with generous donation from an industrialist Smt. Anjanaben Ashokbhai Shah and an eminent philanthropist Shri Gordhanbhai Hathibhai Patel. At present the institute imparts education in Diploma, Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral level and conducts research in emerging/thrust areas of Pharmacy. The college has been housed in a three storey huge building . Currently, the institute function with a total intake of 204 in eight different courses.
Diploma in Pharmacy:
The course of study in Diploma in Pharmacy comprises of Part-I and Part-II. There shall be an examination in the first year on the subjects of Part-I and an examination in the second year comprising the Part-II subjects.
Bachelor in Pharmacy:
A Bachelor of Pharmacy (abbreviated BPharm) is an undergraduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. The degree is the basic prerequisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist in many countries and its about understanding the properties and impacts of medicines and developing the skills required to counsel patients about their use, pharmacists have the opportunity to improve health and even save lives.
Master in Pharmacy:
Master of Pharmacy (MPharma) in India is offered as post graduate (graduate) course after completion of BPharma degree. The MPharma course is normally of two years duration. The course focuses on specialization in the field of pharmacy.
Pharmaceutics is the discipline of pharmacy that deals with the process of turning new chemical entity (NCE) or old drugs into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. It is also called the science of dosage form design.
Pure drug substances are usually white crystalline or amorphous powders. Historically before the advent of medicine as a science it was common for pharmacists to dispense drugs as is, most drugs today are administered as parts of a dosage form. The clinical performance of drugs depends on their form of presentation to the patient.
Pharmacology is the study of drugs. It involves examining the interactions of chemical substances with living systems, with a view to understanding the properties of drugs and their actions, including the interactions between drug molecules and drug receptors and how these interactions elicit an effect. of medicine and biology concerned with the study of drug action, where a drug can be broadly defined as any man-made, natural, or endogenous More specifically, it is the study of the interactions that occur between a living organism and chemicals that affect normal or abnormal biochemical function. If substances have medicinal properties, they are considered pharmaceuticals.
Pharmaceutical chemistry And Medicinal Chemistry:
Pharmaceutical chemistry and Medicinal chemistry are disciplines at the intersection of chemistry, especially synthetic organic chemistry, and pharmacology and various other biological specialties, where they are involved with design, chemical synthesis and development for market of pharmaceutical agents, or bio-active molecules (drugs).
Pharmaceutical Analysis determines the quality of drug products via analytical chemistry. This course will introduce areas such as method validation, handling raw materials and finished products, documentations, inspections that impact the development of pharmaceutical products. Throughout this course, critical cGMPs regulations, FDA guidances and ICH Quality guidelines will be discussed specifically emphasizing procedures to help individuals to maintain a high level of compliance that rounds the laboratory environment. It also reviews several quality systems that support the analytical.
Pharmacognosy is the study of medicines derived from natural sources. The American Society of Pharmacognosy defines Pharmacognosy as “the study of the physical, chemical, biochemical and biological properties of drugs, drug substances or potential drugs or drug substances of natural origin as well as the search for new drugs from natural sources. It is also defined as the study of crude drugs.
