Santhosh Kurup conducted an interactive session with the AIT faculty and brought out the fact that “Teaching as one of the noblest professions that can be described as a process to impart knowledge and information, a process to coach and guide others”. Santhosh provided some tips on the changes that can be brought to the traditional teaching process. A teacher should be a good coach rather than just carrying out teaching. Also teacher must elicit questions from students and motivate them to interact in the class. Another method to make the students of this age is experiential learning where all students are exposed to concepts through actual game, exercise and doing something of their own. Santhosh suggested an “Interactive group work” in classes for explaining concepts which would make them competitive in learning and improves team building process required for a corporate world.
There is a saying “The whole ocean is made up of single drops”. Likewise Santhosh recommended Teachers need not focus completely on syllabus aspect but instead they should frequently refresh the technical concepts to build the expertise and embark interest on the subject for the students.
