It’s a great pleasure to introduce Columbia Institute of Pharmacy, which is synonymous to ultimate in Pharmacy education in the state of Chhattisgarh. Columbia Institute of Pharmacy, Raipur is run & managed by Janpragati Education Society (JPES). The vision of our Society is to be one of the world’s leading innovative and creative technical Institutes that is recognized internationally for excellence in teaching, research and public service. We seek to be the preferred choice of students and today we can proudly proclaim that we are.
It all started in 2003 when Chairman of this society, Mr. Kishore Jadwani, B. Pharm (Sagar, M.P), M.B.A & Secretary, Mr. Harjeet Singh Hura, M. Pharm (Sagar, M.P) had a very humble beginning by starting a Diploma Pharmacy College in a rented building at Raipur. Due to their intensions and visionary mind set today within a span of just six years Columbia Group of organization has a campus of about 25 acres of land, more than 3lack sq. ft of construction that runs D. Pharm. B. Pharm, M. Pharm. B.E. and MBA. And the expansion and diversification is still in progress.
The Institute of Pharmacy is located in Village Tekari, near Vidhan Sabha, Raipur. The goal of the Institute is not only to excel in the field of education but also to conduct social and charitable outreach programme.The institute seeks to bridge the ever-widening gap between modern pharmaceuticals and traditional drug system. Towards this, Our Institute plan to conduct various Workshops & Seminars.

Our Campus :
The society has developed a beautiful institution which is well equipped, well facilitated and technically designed according to the norms of the regulatory bodies (PCI). Separate building construction is developed for D. Pharm & B. Pharm, which spread over the 5 acres of the area This campus have well designed Laboratories, Seminar Hall, Class room, Girls common room, Machine room, Sophisticated instruments room, Library with all necessary books and scientific journals with internet facility. For all round development of the student came also have a beautiful playground with all the sports facility.
Pharmacy education is mainly based on practical’s covered under syllabus & its performance in laboratories. In order to catter these needs institute has developed 10 laboratories for various subjects of pharmaceutical science laboratories well equipped with latest equipments & sufficient standard chemicals & glasswares are provided with gas, water electricity connection to each work station to ensure better working environment along with safety for smooth conduction of practicals.
Laboratories are developed as per the norms of pharmacy council of India (PCI) & all India council of technical education (AICTE) New Delhi. These are designed to acquaint the students to simulated industrial environment.
Computer Lab :
In the era of information technology our institute believes that besides being computer literate today’s pharmacist must be able to abridge the information technology with pharmaceutical science. The institute has a computer center equipped with 20 pentium Celeron 650 Mhz. machines. The institute also process CD’s on anatomy & physiology and allied pharmaceutical subjects along internet facilities as well.
A brief of facilities provided by Columbia Institute of Pharmacy (CIP) is presented here. As the library plays a vital role in the collection, development and dissemination of scientific and technical information to meet the present and future academic and research needs of varied users, let us start by describing it.
Presently, the Library at Columbia Institute of Pharmacy houses more than 8000 volumes of books, 45 Project Reports & subscribes about 31 printed national & international periodicals and 08 local and national newspapers.
Medicinal Plants Garden :
A medicinal plants garden covering a total area of 1000 sq. meters has been developed. More than 100 Genus of various medicinal plants have already been planted. The plants grown in this garden are useful in the practical classes of Pharmacognosy and other subjects. This developed medicinal plants garden provides a strong impetus for herbal drug research and for the training of our postgraduate students and research scholars.
Animal House :
Columbia Institute of Pharmacy has conventional double storey animal house facility registered by CPCSEA (IAEC), Government of India. It is envisaged to provide pre clinical testing in conformity with national and international regulatory guidelines. The animal house will facilitate the availability of healthy and homogeneous animals for routine teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate studies as well as for research / outsourced testing.
Conference Hall :
Our institute also decorated by specious Conference hall to facilitated seminar, conferences & meeting which has all the accessories to required to conduct all the programme.
Sports Facility :

Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess & Carrom
The group organised various indoor & outdoor sports events periodically as per the college calendar to instill the gamesmanship and sprite in the students.
Transport Facility :
Bus facilities also available in Columbia Institute of Pharmacy & Columbia College of Pharmacy. Bus of the CIOP run between Tekari campus and the town (Raipur City).
Institute has provided amenities like girl’s common room, water purifiers & water coolers for hygienic and purified drinking water. JPES canteen was also set up to satisfy the needs of students including meals at subsidized rates.
Hostel facilities are provided for students. There are two hostels for boys and one for the Girls (Diploma, Degree & PG students). Each hostel is self contained with amenities such as reading room, hygeinque kitchen, and dining hall (under the supervision of Chief Warden of hostels) is the in charge of the hostels organizations
Hostel accommodation will be provided for all students and residence in the hostels is obligatory. The students, who opt to stay with their parents/guardians in the city, may be allowed to do so with the permission of the principal.
