Our Library has subscribed to Knimbus e-journals through the VTU Consortium, where the students now have access to papers of various journals. Users can now filter results on the basis of content type (Papers, E-books and Others). Students can now signup and search for the papers through our website anywhere in our college campus. The Library & Information Center has been completely automated and all transactions are carried out through Bar Code Interface with online search facility.
The College library was established in 1986; initially the library incorporated 500 books. Today the library is equipped with over 34,000 volumes of books covering all branches of engineering and reference books like encyclopedia, hand book, Dictionaries and Data books. Student can barrow two books at a time and can retain them for a maximum period of two weeks .
Information science & Engineering is an interdisciplinary science primarily concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information. Practitioners within the field study the application and usage of knowledge in organizations, along with the interaction between people, organizations and any existing information systems, with the aim of creating, replacing, improving or understanding information systems. Information science is often (mistakenly) considered a branch of computer science.
However, it is actually a broad, interdisciplinary field, incorporating not only aspects of computer science, but often diverse fields such as archival science, cognitive science, commerce, communications, law, library science, museology, management, mathematics, philosophy, public policy, and the social sciences.
Information science focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. In other words, it tackles systemic problems first rather than individual pieces of technology within that system. In this respect, information science can be seen as a response to technological determinism, the belief that technology develops by its own laws, that it realizes its own potential, limited only by the material resources available, and must therefore be regarded as an autonomous system controlling and ultimately permeating all other subsystems of society.
On campus Hostels which are located in calm and serene surroundings, provide a conductive natural atmosphere for the students to study.
Over the years the college has built up a reputation as one of the best institutes in providing quality technical education. Its no wonder the students from all over India seek admission to our college.
To provide a homely atmosphere and a suitable ambience for studying the college has built separate hostels for Junior Boys (1st Year), Senior Boys and Girls. All these hostels have separate wardens who are devoted to their task and to look after the welfare of the students with care and dedication.
The hostels are located away from each other with separate mess facilities. The mess facilities cater to the need of all the students by providing both North and South Indian vegetarian food. Utmost care is taken to maintain hygiene during preparation and serving by dedicated staff.
Sports & Activities:
The college has very good sports facility, The college has a huge Sports Complex for out-door sports activities. There are in door games like Snooker, Shuttle & Table Tennis as well, these facilities are also provided in hostels.
The college has a National Level Cricket Ground, a 18 hole Golf Course spread over 25 acres, Lawn Tennis Court, Football, Basketball & Volleyball Courts.
The college conducts Dr. T. Thimmaiah Inter Collegiate Cricket Tournament every year in which students from Leading Engineering Colleges of Bangalore participate.
The college students are also actively involved in social service activities and community welfare programs through NSS. The college has been conducting regular blood donation camps. This is exemplified by the fact that the college has been awarded a Trophy by the Governor of Karnataka for maximum units of blood donated for the two years in succession.
The College Bus plies to various places such as Kolar, Bangarpet, KGF, Mulbagal and Bethamangala.
The details of the Buses and the drivers are given below. For any clarifications, please contact them.

DISTRICT BIO-FUEL INFORMATION & DEMONSTRATION CENTRE:
The District Bio Fuel Information and Demonstration Centre at Dr. TTIT is in action to promote and to bring the project forward in relation with the conduction of various Awareness and Training programs to Grama Panchayaths, School and Colleges etc., The centre is manufacturing Pongamia oil, De-oiled cake, Bio-Diesel, bio-Soap. – pure Pongamia oil is sold to the general public for lamping purpose, Cake is used as Fertilizer for agriculture, Bio-diesel is used as alternate fuel for Motor Vehicles and importantly for the college buses of Dr.TTIT is blernded with the fossil fuels, Bio-soap is used for bathing and to use as skin smoother. At present the centre is having a stock of 120 litrs of oil, 85 litrs of bio-diesel and 3500 kgs of Cake as on 15.05.2014.
The District Bio-Fuel Information & Demonstration Centre was inaugurated by Dr. T. Thimmaiah, the President Emeritus of The Golden valley Educational Trust, KGF on 24.08.2012. Shri . Y.B. Ramakrishnsa, Chairman of KSBDB, Mr. Y. Sampangi, the then MLA-KGF were present on the occasion.
The term Bio-Fuel as is understood in the modern context, has two major offshoots namely, biodiesel and bio-ethanol. These are in reality ways of harvesting solar energy through the medium of plant kingdom. In fact, there are several people who feel the biodiesel route of harvesting solar energy is ideal since this involves greening of waste lands which has tremendous environmental benefits as well.
India has signed the Kyoto Protocol and to initiate in Bio- Fuel Energy sources is one on the mandate. Using of bio-fuel will increase the scope of carbon credit trading with developed countries besides curtailing the emission of carbon dioxide into atmosphere.
Blending of Bio-Fuel with fossil fuel has been endorsed by Government of India and the Bureau of Indian Standards has been approved 5% blending ethanol and gasoline. The Government of India has planned to blend 10% by 2017 and above 10% beyond 2017.
The policy Statement of Karnataka State envisage the use of only non-edible oil seeds for production of bio-diesel, so that the edible oil is left only for human consumption.
Further the cultivation of non-edible oil seeds are grown in dry lands, waste lands and degraded forest land would be used and use of agriculture land would not be encouraged. Thus Karnataka is also a leading State in R&D on the entire valve chain of Bio-fuels.
