DPBS College was established in 1965 by the Anglo Vedic Educational Association (AVEA), Anoopshahr to keep the memories of late Shri Durga Prasad Ji, a great social activist and educationist, alive and to promote higher education in backward area. Till 1983 the college was offering only BSc degree at the under graduate level. In 1984 the building was constructed and donated to the college by Jaiprakash Seva Sansthan for the Arts faculty. This contribution was acknowledged by then Management by adding the name of Shri Baljeet Singh, the father of Shri Jaiprakash Gaur to the institution. Since then the institution is known as Durga Prasad Baljeet Singh College. PG classes were started in Physics and Sanskrit subjects in 1992, BCA in 2001, MSc (Chemistry), 2001, BEd (2002) and BCom (2005).

Course Offered:

National Assessment and Accreditation Council:
The NAAC Committee has been set up to ensure that the assessment and accreditation of the college by the “National Assessment and Accreditation Council” (An autonomous institution under the University Grants Commission) is done in time and on a regular basis as per requirement. The committee works as a coordinating body between the college authorities and NAAC officials. It works in close collaboration with IQAC of the college. Members of the NAAC Committee of the college are as under:

Internal Quality Assurance Cell:
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has been established in the college with the aim to activate the educational system and raise the institutional capabilities to higher levels so that the institution makes continuous improvements in quality. This may involve identifying various processes that develop capabilities for:

(1) Developing mechanisms and competencies among members of the institution, to deal with quality enhancement.
(2) Developing mechanisms for seeking feedback response from students, parents and alumni ’s.

Information Technology(IT):
The growing importance of information and communication technologies in the communication process has necessitated the establishment of this committee. The committee ensures smooth online exchange of information’s with the MHRD of central and state government, Directorate of Higher Education, U.G.C. and other relevant bodies.

The college provides facilities for both indoor and outdoor games like Table Tennis, Basketball, Badminton, Billiards, Weight Lifting, Volleyball, Football and Cricket etc. Annual games are organized to recruit and promote talented sports persons. The overall activities are supervised by the sports in charge with the help of a games committee and training in various sports is given by the well-qualified trainers.

The college has a well equipped gymnasium with all the latest exercise machines and tools providing enough facilities to students to maintain their physical fitness.

Medical Facility:
The basic medical facilities are available to all the students in the college campus free of cost. A well qualified physician is appointed for the purpose who diagnosis and prescribes medicines in case of normal illness and gives first aid in case of accidents and emergencies. A teaching staff of the college is appointed as medical-in charge who looks after the requirements of the medical using with the help of medical committee.

During the gap ours the student can visit canteen which is located beside the Malviya Bhavan. The canteen provides tea, snacks and fast food at a reasonable cost during the college hours i.e. 10:00 AM-5:00 PM.

The college library is well equipped with reference books, text books, journals, magazines and newspapers. The reading room of library provides a very peaceful environment where the students can utilize their time for study during their stay in the college.

Career Guidance Cell:
The college has information and guidance cell which guides the students regarding various career options and how to prepare for the various competitive examinations like civil services, PCSs, UGC-NET etc. It displays all the necessary information regarding vacancies, recruitment devices and dates of various competitive examinations on an open board. Since the last five years the cell is also trying to arrange ‘Campus Placements’. During the last sessions (2009-10) nine students of BSc were recruited by the Pedilite Industries, New Delhi through campus placement.

Institute has the physical infrastructure as per NCTE norms. The total shared area of college campus is 7.33 acre. The buildup area of B.Ed. department is 1560 sq. meters. B.Ed. Department has the following facilities:
