A well stocked library is an asset of any college and at GCET, we consider library as the mine of knowledge. Library has been set up in a wide complex and caters to the needs of students and faculty members with wide collection of latest books, national and international journals, e-journals, reference sources and CDs related to courses offered by the college. The library staff is humble enough to guide new students to learn library ethics and organises special orientatinal workshop for them to learn searching books, journals and other e-resources.
GCET has magnificently designed hostel for boys with all modern facilities. Hygienic environment prevails in the hostel and nutritious food is given to the hostlers. Boys’ hostel has the capacity to accommodate about 150 boys. Mess is maintained on co-operative or contractual basis as per consensus of Hostel residents. Wi-Fi facility is also provide to all students in Campus and Hostel.College provided Wi-Fi Facility to each student and teacher. Wi-Fi is a local area wireless computer networking technology that allows electronic devices to network. Many devices can use Wi-Fi, e.g. personal computers, video-game consoles, smartphones, digital cameras, tablet computers and digital audio players. These can connect to a network resource such as the Internet via a wireless network access point.Depiction of a device sending information wirelessly to another device, both connected to the local network.
GCET Campus has high speed Internet Connectivity. Internet access connects individual computer terminals, computers and computer networks to the Internet, enabling users to access Internet services, such as email and the World Wide Web.
Transport facility is provided to all teachers and students from FF-Road.Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff in between the Fazilka to Ferozepur Link Road. There are no limit of buses. The number of buses will be increased corresponding to the increase in the intake of students.
Computer Science and Engineering:
The mission of the department is to persistently strive for achieving excellence in computing disciplines. The sustained effort is to produce computing graduates with potential to design and develop systems involving the integration of software and hardware devices; innovative approaches to programming and problem solving as well as creative ways to use Computers, Large scale software systems and computing infrastructure of an organization.
Electronics and Communication Engineering:
Electronics and Communication Engineering is a challenging course allowing several specializations such as VLSI design, Digital Electronics including Microprocessor and Micro controller Design, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing and Communication- Satellite and Mobile etc. A E &C graduate has the option of selecting a career path in Electronics, Telecommunication, Medical Electronics, Automotive Electronics, Aerospace, Software and IT.
The undergraduate program in Civil Engineering imparts students with mastery in the field of civil engineering besides fluency in mathematics, physics, instrumentation, computers, management and economics-essential requirements for any successful civil engineer. Students gain practical experience from field visits to industries, dams and irrigation structures, construction sites etc.
The goal of the Mechanical Engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate educational experience in design, mathematics, modeling, computing, management, engineering science, humanities, social sciences and fine arts. Principal study topics include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials engineering, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics and control Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and others.
Applied Sciences and humanities:
The Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities is continuing from the date of inception of the college with a mission of imparting teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Eductaion. The vision is to set up world class facilities related to research areas in the field of Applied Sciences and Humanities, there by ensuring the scope for imparting Masters and Doctoral level courses in the relevant subjects. Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities offers Applied Sciences and Humanities Courses as prescribed by the University curriculum in the 1st year of Engineering & Diploma programmes as well as in School-wing curriculum. So, there is a strong need to build a strong foundation for the prospective and promising Engineers. Our Department is backed by well-educated, talented and dedicated faculty members to fulfill this task. Teachers are always ready to guide their students whenever they are being approached.
