Lady Hardinge Medical College
Lady Hardinge Medical College is a premier All girls Medical College located in Cannaughtplace ,New Delhi .It is associated with SmtSuchetaKriplani Hospital, Ram ManoharLohia Hospital and Kalavati Saran Childrens Hospital .
LHMC is under the Ministry of Health and Family welfare ,NirmanBhavan,New Delhi Every year 200 girl students are admitted to the MBBS course through the Delhi PMT medical Entrance Exam ( soon to be clubbed with All India PMT exams). There are post Graduate seats in various medical specialities. PG entrance admits both males and females.Faculty appointment ( presently faculty ) is through the Union Public Service Commission ( UPSC).
It Is a great honour and pleasure to be bestowed the charge of vice president of the LHMC Alumni Association in the Centenary year 2015-16.
For all Hardonians it is a proud moment to be a product of such a prestigious old institute.
No more is it the only girls college as it is a mixed group at PG level.
Since it’s inception, thousands of students have graduated and are spreading the prestige of their Alma Mater in each nook and corner of the World.
The office bearers of the association have taken a deep plunge into the Centenary year Celebrations, in an endeavour to emerge with great success at the end. The launch of the centenary celebrations was done with great pomp and show on the 17 of March 2015,where all past Principals were invited and honoured for their contribution to the Growth of the College.
Many activities are planned round the year involving students, staff and faculty, including blood donation camp, rangoli competition, mehndi and face painting competition, oration, golden and silver jubilee felicitations and annual lunch by the Alumni Association. Involvement of Hardonians all around the world is sought so that the events can be carried out successfully.
The Centenary celebrations took off with great fanfare on the 17th of March 2015,in presence of Secretary Health, DGHS Dr. Jagdish Prasad, the Director Dr. Atul Murari and Additional Superintendent Dr, B.L.Sherwal. The occasion was graced by our guest of honour Dr. Padmavati. The past principals of the college were felicitated and many of the alumni joined students, faculty and staff in the start of an year long celebration of the centenary year of our alma mater!!
2nd March 2015 saw LHMC take over the Inner Circle Connaught Place as we celebrated Raahgiri Day with a walk from college gates and back at 7.00 AM. An energetic Zumba performance by the students had all joining in and the street play on sex education by the student Jijivisha dramatic society was greatly appreciated. Lunch to all participants was sponsored by the LHMCAA
