The College has come a long way since its inception in 1967 and is now seen as a destination where students can embrace their future with hope and confidence. As a constituent college of University of Delhi, Kalindi College strives to cater to higher education to young women with a vision of a new, fulfilling future for all. A nourishing environment supported by a combination of competent infrastructure and a dedicated teaching faculty helps our students to achieve the highest accolades in Academics, Sports and other Extra-Curricular Activities.
The college had a humble beginning as ‘Government College Devnagar’; within a year the college was shifted to the present location, again a Government School building, in East Patel Nagar.
The College initially offered Undergraduate Programme Courses in Humanities, Social Science and pure science (Group B). Series of Honours Courses began in 1971. Commerce (Prog.) was added in 1977. Honours Courses in Sciences – Physics (1990), Mathematics (1992), Computer Science (1997); professional course of Journalism (1995); Commerce (1998); reflect the evolutionary flow of Kalindi. In 1997, the College became pioneer in launching Environmental Science along with two other colleges of Delhi University. Postgraduate Courses in Political Science (1987), Hindi (1991) and Sanskrit (1992) were also added in its kitty.

1. The College will display the ‘cut-offs’ on the dates announced by the University. The candidate should verify that her marks fall within the ‘cut-offs’ announced and all eligibility criteria are met (including relevant special requirements).
2. The application for admission to the College should be made on the prescribed forms. The application form should be filled completely. Incomplete application forms will be rejected.
3. Those seeking admission will have to be personally present to gain admission.
All admissions will be provisional and subject to confirmation by the University of Delhi.
4. For admission under the Sports & ECA categories, a separate Sports/ECA form shall be filled (available at the college level).
The college has a well-stocked library with a collection of over 76,090 books on different discipline to cater to the academic and recreational requirements of the users in their field of study. The library subscribes to 83 national and international journals/magazines and 13 Newspapers. The library with its open rack system, spacious reading room and reference section provides atmosphere conducive to study. A competent and friendly library staff guides and counsels the students regarding books and the library facilities. Students are encouraged to become regular and responsible users of the library. Library provides access to E Journals, E books and other e resources subscribed by Delhi University Library System through Delhi University Network. Other E resources can also be remotely accessed through UGC NLIST (INFLIBNET program), which is equally accessible to both teachers and students.
Owing to its location, Kalindi College is blessed in its proximity to excellent hospitals. In the case of emergencies, first aid is provided to the students. A qualified medical practitioner and counsellor remains available in the College three days a week. All the students, getting admission in the College, are, course wise, and checked thoroughly by the doctor.
The college runs a well-equipped canteen. It provides quality food at affordable prices. Along with the canteen, there is a Nescafe counter and six canopies that are popular amongst students. There has been a MOU with Pepsi Co. India, which provided additional furniture to accommodate the increased number of students. The canteen has become the most preferred place by the students to enjoy eatables, gossips etc. in a hygienic and soothing atmosphere. In the leisure time, even the teachers also enjoy sitting in the canteen.
The college provides Photostat facilities within the campus at reasonable charges. This is a great convenience for students as well as teachers. This Facility is available in the

Bank and ATM:
Canara Bank, a public sector Bank, has a fully computerized branch within the college premises. It facilitates students and staff with all banking requirements; smooth deposit of admission / tuition / examination fee and ATM facility etc. Friendly staff of the Bank also encourages and inculcates the habit of holding one’s own account, saving pocket money and making investment among the students.
Recently a 250 KVA Silent DG Set with AMF Panel has been installed for uninterrupted power supply in the college.
