With a view to look after educational interests of the children living in West and South Delhi and providing them opportunity of studying in public schools, late Sh. O.P Tandon, who was himself a teacher of fame, established Sankalpa Educational Welfare and Charitable Society (Regd.) in 1993. He laid greater emphasis on a pattern of education which was to be a blend of value based education and of the use of new technology in the field of education, information technology and management.
As a first measure, the Sankalpa Educational Welfare and Charitable Society established Kamal Model School, Mohan Garden, New Delhi-110059 in 1994. The school was subsequently raised to the standard of secondary and senior secondary in a very short period of time. Kamal Model Sr. Sec. School is now one of the best run schools in West Delhi and Known for its remarkable scholastic and co-scholastic achievements.
Keeping in view the absence of any professional Institute in the area, Sankalpa Educational Welfare and Charitable Society established Kamal Institute of Higher Education and Advance Technology at Mohan Garden, New Delhi-59 in 2001. The college aims at the allround development and bright future of young pass-outs of the schools. The Institute has established a special identity among the Institutes affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indrapras University, Delhi and is successfully running B.Ed., BBA(General), BBA (B & I) and BCA courses.
The Society after that opened Kamal International School at Nangli Sakrawati in 2002 for meeting the needs of school education of the Najafgarh and its suburbs. The School, by its academic and co-curricular performance, is recognized as a progressive and well-established school.
In 2004, for taking care of the requirements of the working couples of Dwarka, New Delhi, the Society established Tiny Tulips School in Sector-4, Dwarka, which has successfully and satisfactorily served the needs of working couples over the years.
Candidates having passed Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Commerce and Science with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University and having studied one of the subjects as given below:
- Integrated Science,
- Social Science,
Pass in 12th Class of 10 + 2 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with pass in English and Mathematics or Computer Science or Informatics Practice or Computer Applications.

The Institute has set up a Placement Cell under its dynamic chairman Sh. V. P. Tandon for assisting the pass out Education, Management and I.T. graduates in providing employment to them. The Placement Cell has been able to help the B.Ed. Pass outs in getting placements in prominant Schools of Delhi such as Vandana International School, Sector -10, Dwarka, Kamal Model Sr. Sec. School, Mohan Garden, New Delhi, St. Thomas’s Girls Sr. Sec. School, Salvan Public School, Rejender Nagar, Maxfort, Dwarka, Oxford School, Vikaspuri, Gyanveer Public School, Yamuna Vihar Delhi, Kamal Public School, Vikaspuri, Vidya Bal Bhawan School, Mayur Vihar, Delhi, S.K.V. School, Defence Colony etc. After the first batch of B.B.A. and B.C.A. students pass out, the cell is bound to get more activated.
The Institute in housed in a stylish building having well ventilated class rooms, spacious stairs, well equipped labs with up-to-date technology, well stocked libraries, with standard books and latest journals, facility of lift for physically challenged students, ultra-modern air-conditioned Computer Labs having computers with latest configurations, a Multi Purpose Hall, an air-conditioned Conference Hall, hygienic drinking water and RO facility, power back-up system for uninterrupted power supply and canteen facility for providing hygienic eatables on reasonable price.
Laboratories in B.Ed. Programme
There are three labs for B.Ed. course:-
(i) Educational Technology Lab :
The sole objective of this lab is to enable students to understood how to integrate technology with education. Equipments available with this lab include OHP, Projector with Smart Board, Computer, Television, two in one etc.
(ii) Psychology Lab :
The Psychology Lab gives an opportunity to the students to use the psychological tests to assess individual’s personality. The psychology lab has more than 20 national and international standardized tests and tools for use by the students.
(iii) Integrated Science Lab :
This lab enable the pupil teachers to have practical knowledge of the concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Biology in order to enable them to explain clearly these concepts to the students of secondary level. The pupil teachers may be issued required apparatus and other material for use in the classroom during teaching practice.
Computer Labs :
Kamal Institute of Higher Education And Advance Technology has well equipped fully air- conditioned two separate state of art Computer Labs one for B.Ed., and the other for B.B.A. & B.C.A. programs comprising over 73 systems with Core I5, Core I3 , Core2Duo and DualCore processors, printers and latest versions of software’s being installed on all machines. The Institute fulfils the requirement of terminal student ratio of 1:6. Updated lab status is attached.
Transport Facility :
The Institute has its own fleet of buses to provide to and fro transport facility from Uttam Nagar East, Nawada and Dwarka Mor Metro Stations.
