Established in the year 1994 and is wholly funded by Government of NCT, Delhi. It started functioning from a school building in Keshavpuram with just two courses to begin with namely B.Com (H) and B.Sc. (Gen) with Computer Science. Gradually course like B.Sc. (H) Electronics, B.Sc.(Gen) Mathematical Science, PGDCA and B.Sc.(H) Computer Science were added.
The new campus of the college at Pitampura (H-4-5 Zone near Sainik Vihar) started functioning from academic session 2006-07and courses like B.Sc.(H) Mathematics, B.Sc.(H) Physics, B.A. (H) Psychology and Bachelor of Business studies were added.
Under the able guidance of its founder principal Dr K.P. Chinda and present principal, Dr. Madhu Pruthi, the college, in a very short span of time, has been able to carve out a niche for itself by delivering good results in Delhi University exams. To make students understand the intricacies of what we call complex technology, the college has always made it sure to use latest gadgets and technology. In the current rapidly changing times in terms of expansive information and new emerging technologies, the student now a day’s aspire for higher goals. Keeping pace with demands of these times of flux, the college lays emphasis on the enhancement of these qualities by continuously striving towards academic excellence and overall holistic development of an individual.
Bachelor of Management Studies:
The BMS* (Change of Degree Nomenclature from BBS to BMS Subject to Approval of Executive Council, University of Delhi) program was one of the pioneer undergraduate professional programs in Business introduced by the University of Delhi. The program was started in the year 1987.
Keshav Mahavidyalaya has been teaching this prestigious course since the year 2007. It is a professional 3 year program (6 semesters) where each semester is of 6 months duration. BMS graduates acquire various skills needed to be successful in the highly competitive world of business management. The curriculum includes a healthy mix of academics and practical exposure.
The programme of B.Com (H) is a field of training a student in business practices required for developing sound understanding and analysis of the corporate world. The curriculum includes paper which enable students to understand the trends of the Competitive market as well as the internal working of an organization. This programme also imparts knowledge of Computers, which include MS-Office, MS-Access, Visual Basic, Computerised preparation of final accounts and payroll system.
The B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science Program is a professional 3 year (6 semester) programme. The curriculum of this programme includes computer languages such as C, C++, Java and Advanced Internet Technologies, Computer Graphics, XML, XSL, PESL-CGL and so on. The students undertake a Software Engineering project at the end of 4th semester and a research paper at the end of 6th semester, which makes them well-equipped with the latest software engineering tools. Apart from building a strong base in computer technology the curriculum also includes papers like Organizational Behavior, Financial Management and Economics. These papers enhance their teamwork qualities, managing resources and decision making in a world with limited resources. Meritorious students of this course can get admission directly to M.Sc. Computer Science, Delhi University.
The B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics equips the students with broad foundation on the fundamentals of electronics. The programme provides a solid background in the fundamentals of Analog Electronics, Electromagnetics, Communications, Optoelectronics, Digital System Design and Mathematics. The students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics, as a part of their Curriculum, are required to do a project in the III Year. This project is based on 8085 micro processor and micro computer technology covering both hardware and software based 8085 microprocessor family. Apart from this project students are also equipped with the knowledge of fabrication of IC’s DC Motor, Induction motion, Synchronous motor, etc. and their applications in various fields.
Mathematics is the study of universal patterns and structures and is the quantitative language of the world. Students with a good background in fundamental mathematics have many options in terms of career possibilities and are highly sought after for postgraduate study in almost every quantitative field like actuarial sciences, environmental sciences, finance, economics to name a few.
Physical Science with Computer Science:
The Course : B.Sc. Physical Science with Computer Science is a program which provides students exposure to the critical domains of the Science i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The first year curriculum provides the basic understanding of core concepts of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Environmental Science, Computers and Communication Skills. The curriculum emphasizes on the application oriented approach and development of problem solving skills in students. The Lab courses in this program provide students hands on exposure to electronic components, instrumentation techniques, microprocessor technology and computer applications.
The Course : Physics enjoys the status of one of the oldest academic disciplines. It is the science which gives general analysis of nature and deals with concepts which helps to understand how the Universe behaves. Advances in physics have always influenced other sciences and have translated to the technological sector. The integrated B.Sc.(H) Physics program has 12 papers from the main discipline viz. Physics and 6 papers from other disciplines. In the third year a student has the option to opt any one of the following papers: Modern Chemistry, Biophysics and Economics. A degree in physics opens the door to a wide array of careers such as civil services, MBA, MCA apart from research in specialized areas of physics.
The Psychology Department of Keshav Mahavidyalaya is running a course in B.A. (Hons) Psychology, to train the students in various facets of human behavior. The department has a trained faculty, who teach at one-to-one level,along with taking regular assignments and tutorials. The psychology lab is computerized and well-equipped and there is provision of recent psychological tests and instruments. The department organizes field visits to broaden the horizons of the students. Students are also taken for workshops, seminars, conferences, visits to metal health institutes for their holistic development. This subject enables the students to pursue their careers and research in the hospitals, corporate sector, NGOs, education, and counseling.
The Course :B.Sc. (Gen.) Mathematic Science has the combination of Mathematics Operations Research and Computer Science. Operations Research is Applied Mathematics which is widely used in industries for solving optimization problems like Transportation, Media Allocation, Brand Switching, Linear Programming, Queuing Theory etc. The project work in the curriculum facilitate the students to gain ample practical knowledge of each area. Project areas include Inventory Control, Market Analysis, Assets Management and many more such topics.
Sprawling in an area of 2 acres and surrounded by beautiful lawns, Keshav Mahavidyalaya Girls’ Hostel provides safe and comfortable accommodation facilities to young girls aspiring for higher education at Keshav Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi. The Hostel provides residential accommodation for 75 girls on sharing basis.
·The hostel is in close proximity of Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital. All cases of ailments may be referred here.
·A resident may avail the services of a private doctor at her own cost. In case of a medical emergency, the resident is taken to the nearest hospital. The local guardian is informed, and is expected to take charge of his/her ward immediately.
·A first-aid box containing some patent medicines is maintained in the medical room to help residents at odd hours.
Hostel residents interested in sports may avail the sports facilities of the college (during college hours). Along with the extensive playgrounds, the college has the following facilities and coaching camps:

The college has National Service Scheme (NSS) program with primary focus on the development ofpersonality of students through community service. It organizes various eventsfor the students of the college like self-defense classes for girls, lecture onhealth and nutrition, etc. The NSS team also participates in various eventsheld outside the college throughout the year.
WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT CELL:
Keshav Mahavidyalaya continuously works toward the upliftment of women in society.Toward this end, Women’s Development Cell was established last year. It plays avery important role in sensitizing students on issues related to gender throughorganizing seminars, talks, and films.
The placement cell of the college is well organized and active. It is linked with the Central Placement Cell of University of Delhi and has been successfully placing students in the best companies and multinationals year after year. In the past years, the deserving students have been placed in well-known companies like Capital IQ, Protiviti Consulting, Jaypee Capital, Grail Research, Corporate Executive Board, Bank of America, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, and Igate. The students have also been able to get good pay packages in their placements.
