Computer Electronic & Science & Communication Engineering
The department aims at improving the civic life of man by harmonizing the natural resources available on earth. The UG curriculum is broad-based and designed to introduce the students with a wide range of problems encountered in civil engineering. Electives and indigenously conducted projects are offered in the final year to enable the student to develop additional depth in areas of special interest to them. Survey camps and practical training which are part of the curriculum, aim at exposing the students to actual field problems. Laboratory experiments, computer aided analysis and the tutorial classes are held to build confidence in the students.
Basic sciences play a pivotal role in ingraining the fundamentals of technology in an aspiring engineer. The department of Applied Sciences equips an engineering student with the basic tools of science by using which he/she can easily toil over the advances in the various branches of engineering. Since the date of its inception, the Department of Applied Sciences at KCET, Amritsar is continuing with a mission of quality education and promoting implementation of practical aspects of sciences to build a solid foundation as a part of engineering education. Department promotes congenial environment for all, where the diversity of our faculty and staff provides an enriched experience to prepare students for their careers in an era of global competence.
Computer Science & Engg.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering is renowned for cutting edge research and for imparting professional education endowed with human values. Established in 2009, it has recorded a consistent growth with advanced laboratory facilities to train the students to meet the ever increasing demands for software and hardware professionals in IT field. It has a well qualified and experienced faculty team. The department has adequate facilities to support modern teaching activities. Proper up gradation of teaching and lab facilities are taken care of. We are proud to have a wi-fi college campus.
The Department offers B.Tech., M.Tech(Part Time). In Computer Science and Engineering discipline The Department is actively involved in various Research activities. Students are transformed to be competent and committed engineers.
Electronics & Comm. Engg.
Since its inception in 2009, the Electronics & Communication Engineering Department at KCET, Amritsar has been active in teaching and research. The department has a total of 11 faculty members engaged in teaching, research and consultancy activities in a wide spectrum of areas. It is equipped with the latest experimental and computational facilities.
Recent trends in Electronics & Communication systems have brought drastic changes in our day to day life. Demand and expectations of various communication systems and tools in varying nature of domains demanding efficient Electronics Engineers. Development in electronics, audio and video communication systems and the automation in industry have made an Electronics Engineer a catalyst for revolution in modern society.
Mechanical Engineering is the broadest engineering degree, one that emphasizes the fundamental engineering sciences as they apply to mechanical and thermal systems with applications in diverse areas such as energy, materials, transportation (automotive, aerospace, marine..), health, manufacturing and consumer products. This course develops your knowledge and understanding of engineering design, simulation, manufacturing and thermodynamics. B.Tech programme in Mechanical Engineering offered by the College imparts to the students in-depth technical training and professional accreditation required to practice as mechanical engineers.
College Library is an institutional member of DELNET and is also subscribing to DELNET Online Journal Consortium, which has more than 1100 online journals of Engineering, Sciences and Technology. The library collection consists of books, technical and research journals, magazines and National dailies. The book collection has over 11000 volumes covering all areas and levels of study. The operations of the library are managed by library management software, e- Granthalaya, a product of National Informative Centre (Govt. of India), New Delhi. The stock is updated annually as per norms of AICTE, New Delhi and consists of multiple copies of course text books together with supplementary and reference material. The library subscribes to 50 academic and professional journals of National and International repute. It provides access to students to current information and journal consortium and libraries. Meritorious students are given additional books over and above the regular 04 books, on the basis of the percentage of the qualifying Exam.
Gate Counseling Cell:
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
The GATE committee, which comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole authority for regulating the examination and declaring the results.
GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones.
Workshops & Seminars
Green, grassy, well groomed College ground is the hub of sports activity all through the year. On the special occasion of Annual Athletic Meet of the college, a large number of students participate in events like races, long jump, Javelin throw, Short-Put, Relay race etc. Our Students actively represent the college in PTU inter college sports Competition by participating in Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Weight-lifting and Body building Competitions.

On the behalf of the tremendous history of Khalsa College of Charitable Society, I assure, we produce prodigious engineers, who easily fit into the frame of industrial environment. As we know that study is part and parcel of life, so we acrid Student skills like organizational, time management and problem solving through the group discussions, tests and interviews, apart from academia. Through the efforts of training and placement team that also involves the student representatives; we chisel the professionals from apprentices. Under the roof of KCET, I am assisted by highly qualified,apropos, staff from IIT, NIT and other reputational halls of knowledge, around the globe, that further allow me to take ample steps for placement of our students. Our team is in continuous interaction with the leading companies to facilitate/conduct the seminars in the college premises. These seminars act like a milepost in making the crystal clear vision of students, as far as job opportunities are concerned.
