Mount Olive College Kohima was established in the year 1992 through pioneering and untiring efforts of the members of Sumi Baptist Church, Kohima who felt the need of offering facilities of collegiate education to the aspiring youths of the state. The College is, therefore, sponsored and completely financed by Sumi Baptist Church, Kohima. On 26th July 1992, the College was inaugurated by Shri. K. L. Chishi, the former Chief Minister of Nagaland.
Mount Olive College became permanent affiliated unit of Nagaland University in 2005 and it was included under the Section 2f & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. Now it is under the process to be assessed by NAAC.
It is situated in Daklane, Kohima within the Church complex away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The location provides a serene academic climate for pursuits of knowledge. It is two or three minutes walk from the town Bus terminus and is also connected by a motor able road. The classes are run in well constructed buildings.

Students Union Body:
Students, Union Body Consists of 17 members duly elected among the students of the college. The union Body has to check and work for the well-being of the students and the college as well. The union has to be co-operative with the management and try to maintain congenial academic atmosphere in the college and its vicinities.

Morning Assembly & E.U. Service:
Education means all round development of human personality. A well educated person is considered to be rich in intellect, rich in health and rich in spirit. Spiritual richness is concerned with richness in morality and character of an individual. Viewing it as a whole, the college has provision of morning Assembly twice a week i.e. on Wednesday and Friday and Evangelical union service on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Morning Assembly is compulsory for all the students, E.U. Service is for the members only. Regular classes are held from 9:00 a.m.
The College has a library having a good number of books in various subjects with reading and lending facilities as well as reference section.

The College has its own canteen facilities within the college campus.

Youth Red Cross:
The Youth Red Cross is an integral part of the Indian Red Cross Society. Desirous Students of the college may be the members of the Youth Red Cross Committee of the College. Its object is to inculcate students the idea and profile of humanitarian service specially in relation to the care of their own health and that of others.
NCC – Girls:
Mount Olive College has NCC wing for the Girls only. Participation of the girls is quite satisfactory and they are active in various activities like blood donation, social services, etc.

National Social Service(NSS):
The understanding in acceptance of civic responsibility and the maintenance of spirit of friendliness towards other people of all over the country. Mount Olive College prudently believes in such civic values and provides opportunities to develop it among the students through the Youth Red Cross and NSS.
