Today’s age has led to the need to explore, capture, report and disseminate information. The information Technology Course re-iterates the fundamentals and explores the vast dimensions of the latest technologies, languages and IT platforms to ensure students obtain an enriching, innovative and knowledgeable learning experience.

Computer Engineering :
As technology develops in leaps and bounds the opportunities for expanding the field of Computing grow even more rapidly. The Computer Engineering Course gives a sound grounding in the fundamentals of computing and an understanding of the underlying engineering principles. The focus is on the computer system designed as an element within a computer network, as well as Networking Technology.

Electronics Engineering:
Electronics Electronic Engineers are concerned with electronics components, integrated circuits and microprocessors. Electronics applications are used for transistors, semi conductors diodes and microchips. Electronic engineers may specialize in computers, industrial equipment and controls, aerospace equipment or bio-medical equipment.
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering:
Elec & Tele Electronics is the study, application and control of the scientific phenomenon concerned with flow of electrical current. Telecommunication sector involves the telephone industry, computer industry, microwave radio systems, satellite communications, earth stations using satellite dishes, cellular phones industry.
Biomedical Engineering:
Bio engineering combines biology and engineering. Some of these engineers work closely with bioligists and medical doctors. To develop medical instruments, artificial organs and prosthetic devices. Some apply their knowledge in investigating questions that involve technology and humans.
M.M.S. (Management Studies):
Master of management Studies (MMS) at VIT is 2 year full time course affiliated to University of Mumbai. PhD(Computer Engineering):
Significance of Doctoral Programme (CMPN)
Research plays an important role in education. Doctoral level research is the seed-bed for ideas and practices of the given field. As knowledge is not algorithmic; it does not involve following a rule-based sequence of actions that are applicable in every common situation. Rather, knowledge always requires developed judgment. There are complexities, subtleties, and variations from situation to situation that require experienced judgment in order to apply the knowledge properly.
Keeping this in mind we at VIT have introduced Doctoral Programme in Computer Engineering in the year 2014-15.Our Institution is a research centre which enrols 10 students for PhD (technical) degree course in subject of Computer Engineering recognized by the University of Mumbai.
What are the pre-requisites to enrol in the PhD programme?
The interested candidates wanting to enrol in the PhD programme have to clear the PET examination conducted by University of Mumbai / or should have five years of approved teaching experience. For more information refer University Circular No:-2414 and 441.
What is the selection criterion for admission?
Eligible candidates would be selected through interviews.
What is the intake capacity for the programme?
Intake capacity of this programme is 10.
Is there any reservation criterion applicable for this programme?
Reservation will be as per norms laid by the University of Mumbai.

Library :
Any technical activity would be incomplete without proper reference work and analysis. Keeping this in mind VIT has developed a Central Library with more than 450 sq m built up space and is stocked with relevant books which is approximately about 17,211 non-books (CDs) and about 67 National and International Journals.

Provision of Multi Media section and high speed Internet browsing is also available for instant access to the internet. Also, Classics and fiction books are available for light reading along with books on Art of living and Self improvement.
Computer Center:
Very few colleges in Mumbai, have a separate lab that is dedicated to serve the needs of students with respect to internet usage and browsing.
VIT has setup a separate lab in an area of about 300 sq. m. which is dedicated to this sole purpose. Divided into 3 spacious labs, the Computer Center houses a variant of computers that is made accessible to the students at any given point of time.
