Computer Science & Engineering:
Welcome to Computer Science and Engineering department at VGI. Computer Science and Engineering department was established in the year 2000 and is now recognized as one of the leading departments with best infrastructure and facilities. The department offers a 4 years B.Tech. course in Computer Sc. & Engineering with the intake of 180 students per year. We educate tomorrow’s innovators and guide a broad range of multi-disciplinary initiatives that demonstrate the transformative power of Computer Science and Engineering.
It has consistently fulfilled its role of producing Computer Engineers ready to fulfill the needs of the IT world. Students who complete the program go on to careers as software engineers, programmers, project managers, designers, consultants or architects who create software as well as computer specialists who administrate database and networking systems or information security specialists.
Welcome to Information Technology department at VGI. Information Technology department was established in the year 2000 to meet the current trends in the field of IT. The department offers a 4 years B. Tech. course in Information Technology with the intake of 60 students per year. Information Technology department provide quality education to the students and impart IT excellence in them. Education in Information Technology imparts the knowledge through which the needs of users within an organizational and societal context can be met.
Traditionally Civil Engineering has played an important role in improving the civic life of society by harmonizing the natural resources available on earth. Some of the major areas in the field of Civil Engineering are design and construction of various structures like bridges, buildings, roads, tunnels and dams, developing new construction technologies, Design and development of Foundation systems, Geotechnical Engineering,
Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Municipal and Sanitary services, surveying, GIS and remote sensing, and Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering. Also, Civil Engineers have found an important role in some newer areas like design and construction of waste containment systems, disposal of high level nuclear wastes, and protection of Ground water resources. In recent years Civil Engineers are facing newer challenges in infrastructure development that is resulting into Development of newer type of foundation Solutions, treatment of natural soils, and development of newer materials.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2001 with an annual intake of 60 students in B. Tech. Course. The intake has subsequently been increased to 180 students per year. The course is divided into Eight Semesters.
4 Weeks and 6 weeks Industrial Training is compulsory for students of 2nd and 3rd year respectively. Institute helps in arranging the training. Evaluation is done on the basis of a report submitted by each student followed by a seminar on it. Students are also taken on study tour to industries and relevant organizations
Workshop and Laboratories are the heart of Mechanical Engineering Department. A well equipped workshop occupying over 5000 sq. ft. area has adequate facilitates for practical classes. The following are the shops in workshop.
Electrical & Electronics:
Electrical Engineering is all about power electronic, electrical components, control systems and power systems and its protection using automation. It consists of study, designing, testing and maintaining the manufacturing of electrical equipment, power management and power systems. This branch of engineering plays a vital role in the energy industry, power management etc.
In addition to Academics, The Department is organizing Industrial Visits for the Students & Faculty Members. Industrial Visits like BHEL Haridwar, Chilla Hydro Project, Chilla and Harduaganj Power Station, Thermal Power Station Dadri for Coal and Gas based units & combined cycle units and also ± 500 KV 1500 MVA HVDC Receiving center and Smart Grid control unit at Kathiawar Sarai and Gas Insulated EHV AC Substation at 400 KV, 800 KV etc. This gives platform to the Students to Receive Knowledge of expertise from Industry experts. This gives an outlook to students for present demand in industries in terms of playability.
Electronics & Communication:
The main objectives of the BTech(ECE) program is to produce students who are well prepared for Indian corporate industry with required core competency to succeed long-term in engineering careers (post B.Tech), and who are well prepared to undergo PG studies and R&D careers.
As a discipline and branch , ECE projects on the design of underlying hardware systems. Our prospective is to direct applications in major areas related to electronics such as telecommunications, and electronics sectors, while directing for development of necessary skills for integration of hardware and software components i.e. embedded systems . We ideally get many innovative job options in ECE, and have accordingly planned. The curriculum for ECE is basically having a course duration of 4 yrs .
Pharmacy is the art and science of preparing and dispensing medication and provides the drug related support to the medical Doctor in particular and public in general. This course imparts wide spectrum of knowledge related to non clinical area of medical field and gives abundant exposure of technology related to manufacturing, synthesis of drug molecules. The major development in the field of pharmacy have created avenues in the field of biotechnology clinical sciences, pharmacogenomic, pharmacovigilance, Intellectual Property Right (IPR) and allied areas. Even in USAH-IB visa is being given to such technologists who are demand in USA and pharmacy graduates are one such category which falls in the group. In our country the need of the trained pharmacist is very large in the industry, for Marketing, in Government, in Hospital. A recent study shows that in last trisemester of this year the need of the country is about 60,000 personnel in area of health, Pharmacy is indeed the majors segment of placement within the country as of now. I wish the entire pharmacist to serve its profession and country in their best effort. This profession is Recession Free Course which is sacred and flourishing as any other technical branch.
Electronics & Communication Engineering:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2001-2002 with an annual intake of 60 students in B. Tech. Course. The intake has subsequently been increased to 180 students per year .The department has introduced M.tech Course in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 with an intake of 18 students per year. So far six students have been awarded M.Tech Degree.
