The Aims and objects of the Trust are to promote education of all types and grades among the people in general and in particular amongst the backward communities in the rural areas.
The Annai Veilankanni’s Educational and Cultural Society was established in the year 1988 with the aim of providing good educational facilities to the people of the area; cater to the needs of the poor and to serve the society in general through charitable deeds. Our Trust is registered as a Society under Tamil nadu Societies Registration Act 27 of 1975 (Registered as No. 182 of 82). The purpose of starting B. Sc., Degree Course in Nursing (Basic) is to train and develop professional nursing personnel with sound scientific background in order to render service effectively and efficiently and to meet the challenges in Nursing in Indian and international scenario.

The College which is planned exclusively for nursing education, boasts of independent and elegant buildings for academic and hostel purposes, which depict architectural excellence both in aesthetics and space utilization. The infrastructure includes unique facilities that provide a conducive atmosphere for a good learning and living experience.
The college building contains a well furnished Principal’s suite, Vice-Principal’s office, administrative wing, faculty rooms, spacious nine lecture halls, a conference room a well stocked library with a large collection of books, and an extension to the hostel, journals and internet facilities and Xeroxing facility, a records room, audiovisual aids room, an auditorium with a capacity of 250 and a string of well equipped laboratories for pre-clinical training of practical skills in the subjects – Nursing foundations, Medical surgical nursing, Anatomy, Nutrition, Child health Nursing, Community health nursing and Obstetrics and Midwifery. Besides these the college also has well utilized computer laboratory with 20 computers and facilities for improving English language skills. A sports ground, indoor games facilities, and three college buses to transport students from the hostel to clinical areas outside the campus and back.
A well stocked books with books on various subjects caters to the reference and additional reading requirements of the students and members of staff.
The college is situated in south Chennai. There is excellent access by bus and train services. The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. The campus is ideal and conducive for learning.
Student support reiterating our commitment towards educating the rural women, the college offers welfare and student support senses to complement their academic learning experiences.
Special student services are established to focus on the following areas.
Mentor system – All students are grouped under the care of teachers. Their progress is monitored regularly. The mentors provide extra tutorial, personal and academic counseling session
The college provides bus facility for the students to commute from different parts of the city and from Saidapet railway station and bus stand at a nominal amount.
Our College has a very good Transport System. Its mainly for the Girls those who come from long distance. The buses will come to the their nearest bus stop and it is provided with little cost. There is also pick up from Saidapet Railway Station,and Saidapet Main Bus stand.
The management own buses and van to enable the students from distant area to have an easy access to the school at reasonable rates with special care
Our college has a canteen with food and snacks.This is also provided at low cost.
The students after their graduation are placed in our tie-Up hospital and various corporate institutions. Campus interviews will be conducted by various hospitals and the students will be absorbed there.
