MMM College of Nursing was established in the academic year 2008 and has been formally approved by Government of Tamil Nadu (G.O.293 dated 11.08.2007).The college is affiliated to “The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University”, Chennai and has been recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and by Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai. The college is located at Nolambur, Mogappair West, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The College of Nursing is roofed under ‘The Madras Medical Mission’. The origin of this Premier Institute goes back to the summer of 1982, with the formation of ‘The Madras Medical Mission’ as a ‘not for profit’ organization. This was inspired by the missionary zeal of His Grace Bishop Zachariah Mar Dionysius and backed by the commitment of the doctors and members of the Orthodox Syrian Christian community at Chennai who promoted this registered charitable society.

We believe that excellence in nursing is exhibited in practice that demonstrates caring, commitment, compassion for the dignity and well-being of all people and adherence to professional and ethical standards. Our faculty believes that nurses need to be trained to analyze, synthesize, apply, and evaluate knowledge from nursing and other disciplines to improve health by providing high quality care. We also believe that nurses generate knowledge by conducting high impact research, engaging with communities, and contributing to changes in standards as the role of the professional nurse evolves.

The college of nursing library is situated on the first floor of the educational building. It is open from 8.30am to 9.00 pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays. It provides a conducive learning environment. Exclusive rooms like reference room, journal rooms and virtual library are present. The latest edition of books, journals of national and international publication is concurrently updated.
A separate girl’s hostel is available within the college campus. Each room has 3-6 inmates in a room. There are 12 toilets and bathrooms in each floor with adequate geysers. Hygienic facility for washing, drying and ironing clothes is provided. Facilities for indoor games like lido, chess, carom board and outdoor games with a wide clean ground are offered for our students in the Hostel. Exclusive rooms like visitors rooms, recreation rooms are bestowed.
A hygienic kitchen and dining hall to accommodate 60 students at one time is available, with continuous boiling water facility. Round the clock Male and Female Security Staff is ordained to ensure the safety of our students
After successful completion of the course, the graduate nurses have the opportunity to work at “The Madras Medical Mission”. In our supportive and innovative health care team, our nurses are an individual and not a number. The hospital provides on the job training for graduate nurses, where they have first hand diverse range of career options with in the health system. This will enable our graduate nurses to work in any other Hospitals/ Community field/ Research in National & International level.
The MMM College of Nursing dwells in a separate storied building exclusively for nursing education provides conducive teaching – learning environment. The lecture halls are equipped with black and white boards, overhead projector and LCD projectors.
MMM College of Nursing trains nurses who will have the potential to deliver quality nursing care to individual, families and communities with across their life span in wide variety of health care settings as well as to assume the role of a teacher, supervisor, manager and researcher in the clinical public health setting. The College aims at preparing graduates to assume responsibility as Professional, Competent Nurses and Midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
